College started in the year 2001 with the following programmes :-
- Computer Science and Engineering
- Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering
- Information Technology
All with an intake of 60. A new branches namely Mechanical Engineering from 2006-2007, Civil Engineering from academic year 2011-2012 and Computer Science and Engineering (AIML) from academic year 2021-2022 were added with an intake of 60 each. The Bharati Vidyapeeth college of Engineering is a private, self-financing institution. The college is recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur.
The approval No. is F No. 740-89-003 (NDEG)/ET/2000 Dated 28/6/2001.

Engineering is a human activity aimed at creating new artifacts, algorithms, processes and systems that serve humans. An engineer seeks to create what never did exist. It is a privilege in any one’s career to embark on engineering education.
Within a short span of ten years, Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Engineering (BVC) Kolhapur, Maharashtra. BVC draws students from different parts of the country and they create an academic ambiance that is multicultural, compassionate and learning beyond classroom. The multicultural contexts in which out students grow help them to understand the global competition. At BVC helping students to develop integrated mindsets to work anywhere in the world is a way of life.
Attaining excellence in education is the goal of BVC. It has been our endeavor to offer the best education in Engineering. BVC culture encourages co-operation, team work and competitive spirit. Our strength lies in pleasant picturesque environment, excellent infrastructural facilities, qualified and experienced faculty, commitment to personal attention, motivation to excel in academic and extra curricular activities and continuous interaction with industry.
We are committed to have an environment which provides placement opportunities to our students and enriched knowledge base to our faculty. The idea is not only to achieve good examination results but also to make them excel in their chosen branch of study. This is reflected in the placement record of the students passing out from the college.

Salient Features
The college was established in the year 2001. The campus is located at a distance of 10 km from the central bus stand, 2 km from the airport and 9 km from the Railway station. The campus occupies 10 acres of land with a beautiful landscape and all other amenities. Since the institute is located at the outskirts of Kolhapur city, it is completely pollution free and therefore provides a good teaching learning environment.
The institute runs five branches viz. Computer Science and Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering(AIML), Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering. The college is designed and constructed from renowned Architects and Civil Engineers such that it takes care of all the environmental artifacts like, water harvesting, aerodynamic building structures, solar heaters etc and according to the standards and norms set by All India Council for Technical Education. The workshop facility is constructed away from the classrooms so that teaching process doesn’t get disturbed. There is a state-of-the-art, acoustically designed central auditorium which is used for various events like seminars, workshops, conferences, cultural programmes etc. The college also has the following departments / committees which work consistently for the development of students .
The college has a boys and girls hostel. There is a canteen facility in the college premises which provides healthy food at attractive rates. The college provides scholarships to the needy and bright students. Every department takes optimum care for the overall development of the student. There is a web based feedback system available for assessment of staff members by the students. The departments have students associations which carry out different activities for the department. They maintain an event register for the same.
The college organizes various industrial tours for the students every year. Students are also motivated for social development and encourage them to carry out social activities like tree plantation, no vehicle day, fruits distribution etc. The college arranges parents meet every semester to report the progress of their pupil.
